WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – It’s being called the largest child porn bust in state history.

Police say John Shearen had more than a million images and videos of children being exploited.

They describe victims as young as a year-old.

« He is one of the main persons distributing child porn on the web, all over the world, » said Jeff Duncan, of FDLE.

FDLE says Sherean had dvds, external hard drives and that he was in the process of downloading more when they arrived.

« He’s not surprised, » said Duncan. « He knows what he’s done, and he’s going to have to have his day in court. »

Former Boca police chief Andrew Scott says there’s no doubt that it can lead to more.

« It takes time. However, once they do latch onto an individual, potentially, the ability to arrest additional individuals as a result of the investigation is great, » said Scott.

Yet if the allegations are true, Scott says the heartbreaking fact that he had a million videos means that the market for kiddie porn is strong as ever.

« When he sells them or he gives them out, other people are manufacturing them or copying them, as well. They know that to have this kind of a stash, means it’s profit for them, it’s money, » said Scott.

Making money, off of hurting children.

« The victim continues to relive the crime day after day, long after it has stopped, » said Scott.

Police have not disclosed where he was allegedly getting the material or who he was allegedly sending it to, because this investigation is ongoing.
